Our 2nd grade classrooms got a special STEM surprise on Friday! 🤖✨

Members of Red Thunder Robotics stopped by with their robot for a live demonstration, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at how it was designed and built. Our 2nd graders were full of curiosity and asked some amazing questions!

Thank you to Red Thunder Robotics for inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. We loved seeing the excitement for STEM in action!

LMS 7th Graders went on a fun and educational field trip today! They spent the morning at the Sloan Museum and enjoyed an afternoon at the Flint Institute of Music. A huge thank you goes to the 7th-grade teachers for organizing such a wonderful field trip, transportation for getting our students there and back safely, our nutrition staff for packing sack lunches for students, and to PALS for helping to fund this amazing day!

⚡ Historic Weekend for Red Thunder Robotics! 🤖

@Red Thunder Robotics had a historic weekend, achieving a major milestone for our robotics program!

For the first time in team history, Red Thunder Robotics was seeded #1 after qualification matches and captained the #1 alliance to become Event Champions, partnering with FRC Team 2337 (Grand Blanc) and FRC Team 5234 (Ovid-Elsie).

The team was also honored with the prestigious FIRST Impact Award — recognizing their dedication to inspiring others and growing STEM in their community. This marks the second time in three seasons that they have earned this award.

These achievements reflect the countless hours our students dedicate to designing, building, programming, and refining their robot, as well as their commitment to making a positive impact beyond the competition field.

Congratulations to the entire Red Thunder Robotics team on this historic accomplishment! ⚡

🌱 Thank You, AgroLiquid! 🌱

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to AgroLiquid for their generous donation to support Laingsburg Elementary’s new STEM program!

Because of this donation, our students will soon have access to a classroom greenhouse, creating exciting opportunities for hands-on learning. Elementary students will be able to explore how plants grow, learn about food production, and investigate real-world science concepts right in their classroom.

This innovative learning space will help spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and connect students to the science behind agriculture and sustainability.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners like AgroLiquid who invest in the future of our students and help bring meaningful STEM experiences to life!

Our 4th grade Wax Museum project brought history to life! Students researched famous trailblazers using Who Was books and note-taking to craft their own speeches. On presentation day, they transformed into “wax statues,” standing still until a button press brought them to life to share their inspiring stories. A creative and memorable way to celebrate learning and history in action!

Ms. Starr's class reviewed fractions with like denominators using Sour Patch Kids! They first identified the denominator, then each color's numerator, then which fraction was the greatest and the least, and finally; they ordered the fractions from least to greatest. Of course they got to enjoy the candy at the end ❤️🧡💙💚💛
