Way to represent the Wolfpack!

Last Friday, we celebrated Mentor Day at Laingsburg High School. One of our favorite annual traditions, we had more than 40 local business owners, professionals, and entrepreneurs spend the morning sharing their experiences, lessons, and career paths with our students.
We’re incredibly grateful for their time, insight, and commitment to our kids. Events like this make a real difference.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Mentor Day a success!

Ms. Starr's 4th-grade class did a Shark Tank simulation project this past week! Students had the opportunity to work in teams to create an invention that would solve one of three dilemmas they had to choose from: messy backpacks, always being late, or parents always saying "we'll see" when they actually meant no. They then presented these inventions to a group of "Sharks" (some of Ms. Starr's former 4th graders, current 5th graders) trying to convince them why this product would effectively solve the dilemma they chose, how much it would cost to make and buy, a diagram of the product to show how it works, and what kind of investment they were seeking. This multidisciplinary project encompassed reading, critical thinking, research, writing, teamwork, design, science, technology, engineering, and math all in one! A special shout-out to the 5th-grade teachers for sharing your students with us, allowing us to make this project possible!

Dear Laingsburg Families,
We received information last night regarding funeral arrangements for our elementary music teacher, Steven Easterling that will impact our ability to have school for our kindergarten through fifth grade students on Wednesday, August 27th. In order to accommodate the number of elementary staff members that would like to attend Steven's funeral, we will have to cancel school for our ECEC and Elementary students. A makeup date for this canceled date will be communicated in the coming weeks. School will continue for our middle and high school students tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding and supporting our school community during this difficult time.
If you are interested, here are the funeral arrangements:
