Our Story

Mission

The mission of the Laingsburg Community Schools is to transmit essential knowledge and skills in a way that develops each student's ability to think clearly and solve problems while nurturing every student's potential.

Community

Laingsburg is a rural setting with three lake communities: Lake Victoria, Round Lake and Scenic Lake, as well as the Looking Glass River. Because of our proximity to larger cities, both rural and suburban lifestyles are represented in the character of our schools. They are safe, friendly, cooperative, wholesome places for children to grow and learn.

Our community considers the district to be a point of pride. We have many public-private partnerships with local, county and regional organizations and businesses. Our neighbors come to see our student events and support families who may be in need. Equally important, our bonds and millages are regularly passed by voters who recognize the importance of investing in quality education.

Residents enjoy many annual events, including:

  • Winterfest (December)

  • Pancake breakfast, car show and Chad Hill Memorial Burnout (July)

  • Movies in the Park

  • Music in the Park

  • Farmers’ Market

  • Lions’ Springtime Festival

School of Choice

Welcome to Wolfpack country! We invite you to make Laingsburg your school of choice!

Laingsburg Community Schools is an award-winning, technologically advanced district supported by a community that's committed to its students. Laingsburg has highly effective, caring teachers who nurture student academic and social growth, and a proven track record of student academic success in all state assessments. We offer enrichment and extracurricular opportunities throughout the school district.

Laingsburg has partnerships with Lansing Community College and Baker College for its Early College Program. This program offers students the opportunity to enroll in accelerated courses and get a jump-start on college. Additionally, Laingsburg offers numerous Career and Technical Education and Advanced Placement courses.

One of our noteworthy student growth opportunities is a three-week European exchange program which is one of the oldest continuous foreign exchange programs for high schools in the U.S., with our entire program organized in-house.

Opportunities for student participation in a small school district abound. They include extracurricular activities, clubs, leadership opportunities, technology, yearbook publication, newspaper reporting, TV and video broadcasting, athletics, robotics, drama, Science Olympiad, DECA, FFA, field trips, band activities, and many more. Many of our students earn local, state and national awards while competing in these competitions while developing their skills and leadership abilities.

In 2019, a capital bond passed to supply nearly $18 million to Laingsburg Community Schools for a new auditorium, updated security for building entrances, air conditioning, new buses, an expanded band room, new auxiliary gym and renovated athletic facilities. Laingsburg Community Schools is proud to offer these new facilities to our students and community.
