Career and Technical Education
Students are entering a highly competitive workforce based on a global knowledge and an information economy. To be career and college ready, every person needs to be able to integrate and apply current, high demand skills, technical knowledge and skills, and core academic knowledge. With an emphasis on real world, real life skills, Career and Technical Education at Laingsburg High School will prepare students for their next academic and career steps. CTE programs can provide students with acknowledgment that goes beyond academic grades, including college credit while in high school. Current programs available to students include Marketing and Finance.

DECA
The co-curricular marketing student organization, DECA, is designed to support and strengthen the Marketing and Finance curriculum and instructional program by reinforcing concepts and allowing students to apply what they have learned in the classroom. Through participation in local, state and national activities, DECA members develop a better understanding of the business world, increase awareness of their civic obligations, and develop social poise and leadership skills. Participation in DECA provides a vehicle for students to network with professionals and their peers, develop professionalism, travel, obtain scholarships, and explore careers. Competitive events in the areas of finance, hospitality, marketing, and business management are held at the district, state and national level.
